"Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch'entrate!" (Abandon all hope, you who enter!)

"Non ragioniam di lor, ma guarda, e passa." (Let us not speak of them, but look, and pass on.)

"Il gran rifiuto." (The great refusal.)

" ... Nessun maggior dolore Che ricordarsi del tempo felice Nella miseria." (There is no greater pain than to remember a happy time when one is in misery.)
